Plein Air OPAS

This is the first painting of five I completed over a two day period in a plein air competition in Licking County, Ohio.

South Vienna Prairie

A friend and I traveled south on Saturday to South Vienna for a paintout sponsored by the OPAS (Ohio Plein Air Society) It was a chilly day for April with temps in the mid forties and some wind but I put on my gloves, scarf and hoodie and manged to come up with a painting. The muted colors of early spring are hard to work with in my opinion.

OPAS Paint Out at Tipp City

I painted at the annual Tipp City paintout last Saturday. It was a beautiful fall day and I was happy to sell this piece to resident of the city: Bryan & Michele Blake.
It was a a challenging perspective to paint and a very busy restaurant where we ate lunch when we were finished painting. People were constantly stopping and talking and standing in front of the restaurant- obstructing my view (lol).
