Sgt. 1st Class Brian K. Naseman, 36, died while serving our Country with the United States Army - 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team - 108th Forward Support Company, attached to the 2nd Battalion in Iraq on Friday, May 22, 2009.

Lemons are featured in most of my paintings from the past few weeks

They had some very beautiful specimens so I bought a few and then made some lemon pound cake. The last painting here is a simple plate with grapes and orange slices. Lighting makes the scene dramatic.

It has rained for much of this month but I have still found time to go out and push some paint.

I began this portrait from life in a workshop and it was 90% finished when I brought it home, but I used a photograph I had to add some detail and make corrections. Looks better now.
