Loving Lemons

When life gives you lemons on sale at Krogers for 99 cents a bag, you buy them, and if you like to paint- you paint them! Then you make lemonade or lemon bars!

Lemons on Sale!

It must be lemon season somewhere. They were 37 cents each at my local supermarket. I picked up a couple and paired them with my Deruta Italian vase, a small Clementine and a blue ceramic cup. I was thinking about how the blue cup echoed the blue in the vase and how the fruit did the same thing. It just seemed to come together more easily than usual.

Lemons with Little Brown Jug

I am getting some new kitchen cabinets in a few weeks and the salesperson allowed me to take home a door sample so I could buy some matching paint to use on my paneling. I decided to use the door sample as a backdrop to my still life setup.

Everything is a tad bit more yellow than it is in real life but that's O... I feel like the lemons are so bright they affected the color of everything else. It's almost like applying a "waring filter" in Photoshop and using yellow as the key color.
